This video reveals how the tracking area covered by a common dip-tilt, aka "polar" tracking mount differs from a true equatorial mount that is capable of accurately tracking the sun across the entire sky. Azimuth-altitude trackers are of course also capable of pointing more-or-less anywhere and thus accurately following the sun as well; however, they are not discussed in this video In mathematical terms, rotating the z axis and then rotating the y axis does not generally point the same direction as rotating the y axis and then the z axis.
